Months 10-16 The Communicator

Christine Nolan-Dack from Gymboree Play and Music talks to NewBaby about children from ages 10 to 16 months as the Communicators. Children this age are adept communicators. They show what they want or need through actions, such as pointing at a toy or leading you by the hand to open a door for them. When they crawl or walk to a caregiver, or tap an adult's leg, they are using gestures to communicate a full sentence, such as "Mommy, I want you to read this to me." And when they roll a ball back and forth with an adult, they are learning about two-way communication and taking turns. From first born to first grade, there's a Gymboree class to help your childs development

Months 0-6 "Thoughtful Observer"

Christine Nolan-Dack from Gymboree Play and Music talks to NewBaby about children from ages to 6 months as the "Thoughtful Observer". In these early months, newborns are learning to feel comfortable in the outside world. They are working on regulating their eating and sleeping cycles and even their body temperature. What's most important for babies during this time is to feel comfortable, safe and secure. When they do, they become better learners, they're also able to better connect with their loved ones. All the skills newborns are developing help them achieve these two critical goals. From first born to first grade, there's a Gymboree class to help your childs development
